Nipsey Hussle's "Proud to Pay" campaign was an initiative focused on the value of supporting independent artists and businesses. Launched in 2013, the campaign encouraged fans to invest in Nipsey's music by purchasing his mixtape for $100, rather than opting for free downloads. This approach aimed to shift the mindset around the value of art and promote economic empowerment within the community. The idea was to foster direct support from fans, allowing artists to reap the rewards of their hard work without relying solely on traditional music industry avenues. The campaign resonated deeply, highlighting Nipsey’s commitment to entrepreneurship and community building.

Our mission is to provide unforgettable prom experiences for deserving students in our community who have shown hard work and progress, as well as those who may not have the financial means to afford such an important milestone.

We went from one school and two deserving students to five schools and 19 students in one year! Each year, we aim to grow our partnerships with local businesses and schools to make an even greater impact on our community. 'Take Us 2 Prom' invests back into the small businesses and local creatives who generously donate their time and services that make these dreams come true. The funds raised will provide essential resources and care for the students while supporting the local artists and businesses that help bring this event to life.
